Ned-Deck Marine and Palfinger AG – a stronger position in the maritime industry
Ned-Deck Marine, leading manufacturer of high tech davit systems, has strengthened its position in the maritime industry with Palfinger AG, the leading international manufacturer of hydraulic lifting, loading and handling systems, which acquired a majority share within Ned-Deck Marine on July 16th 2010. This strategic partnership will enable customers to exploit the best of both companies’ core strengths in the marine, yachting, offshore and wind farm industry worldwide.

Launch ramp
The launch ramp (or slide way) has been built up from hollow sections and steel plates to a stiff rigid frame in order to transfer the system forces to the ship’s structure.
The launch ramp has been provided with all necessary provisions for fastening of relevant accessories such as slide pads, locking device, hydraulic unit and cylinders.

Davit arm
The davit arm (or A-frame) has been built up from hollow sections and steel plates and is connected to the launch ramp by means of two pivot points and two hydraulic cylinders.
The davit arm has been provided with all necessary wire rope sheaves and provisions for fastening of relevant accessories.

Winch
Each davit system will be supplied with a single drum planetary winch, driven by an axial piston rod motor. The winch incorporates a fail-safe multi-disc brake and one-way roller clutch

Hydraulic power pack unit with motor starter
Each davit system will be supplied with an hydraulic power pack unit with motor starter, built onto the launch ramp.
This power pack unit incorporates the pump unit with built-on squirrel cage electric motor, pressure gauge, oil filter, air breather drain plug and hand control valve for hydraulic functions.
The hydraulic system will be delivered cleaned and pre-flushed.
The motor starter which has been fitted directly onto the power pack unit incorporates a main switch, push-button and “power-on” indicator

Hydraulic cylinders
Each davit system will be supplied with two (2) double acting hydraulic cylinders provided with dual over-centre valves.
The cylinder rods have been made of stainless steel. The rod ends of each cylinder incorporate the spherical plain bearings.

Accessories:
Each davit system will be supplied with the following accessories:

Suspension parts
- Two-sheave traverse block;
- Galvanised steel wire rope of sufficient length for lowering the boat into the water;
- Suspension chains and shackles;
- Swivel hooks;
- Wedge socket.

Lashing parts
- All necessary lashing parts for securing the boat in stowed position.

Conservation
Unless agreed otherwise, all steelwork will be shot blasted to SA 2,5 and coated with one layer of 2-component epoxy primer of brand SIGMA. Dry film thickness 60-80 microns.
This conservation is not suitable for outdoor storage for a long period of time.

Optional accessories:
The following accessories are to be seen as non-standard but can be supplied optionally:
- Drop simulator for training purposes.
