Ned-Deck Marine and Palfinger AG – a stronger position in the maritime industry
Ned-Deck Marine, leading manufacturer of high tech davit systems, has strengthened its position in the maritime industry with Palfinger AG, the leading international manufacturer of hydraulic lifting, loading and handling systems, which acquired a majority share within Ned-Deck Marine on July 16th 2010. This strategic partnership will enable customers to exploit the best of both companies’ core strengths in the marine, yachting, offshore and wind farm industry worldwide.

Davit frame
The davit frame consists of two davit arms built-up from hollow sections, which are connected by means of an intermediate frame.
Both arms are provided with all necessary wire rope sheaves and provisions for fastening of relevant accessories such as winch platform, boat supports, lashing wires and maintenance slings.
Normally the davit arms are to be welded to the superstructure of the offshore platform but upon request they can also be delivered with a flange (optional)

Winch
Each davit system will be supplied with an electric driven winch which should be fixed onto the operating platform on top of the davit.
The winch is a standard item and consists of the following main components;
 Closed gear casing with foundation frame;
 Built-on electric motor;
 Winch drum, divided in two sections;
 Remote control drum;
 Speed reducer gear (conventional gear train);
 Centrifugal brake unit for gravity lowering;
 Stop brake of the “dead-man” type;
 Manual cranking gear with safety device;
 Hand wheel for paying-out of wire rope.

Accessories:
Each davit system will be supplied with the following accessories:

Electric controls
 Motor starter for mounting near the railing and provided with main switch, push button and “power on” indicator;
 Limit switches

Suspension parts
 Galvanised steel wire rope of sufficient length for lowering the boat into the water;
 Non-toppling lower blocks and plate links;
 All necessary chains, links and shackles.

Remote control parts
 Stainless steel remote control wire of sufficient length;
 Pull cord for operating from within the lifeboat;
 Remote control sheaves and blocks;
 Loose items such as wire rope clamps and shackles;

Foul weather and recovery pendants (rescue boat only!)
 In case the lifeboat is also rated as a rescue boat, the davit will be supplied with foul weather and recovery pendants.

Remainder loose items
 Boat stops;
 Ladders for easy access of operation platform and wire rope sheaves

Conservation
Unless agreed otherwise, all steelwork will be shot blasted to SA 2,5 and coated with one layer of 2-component epoxy primer of brand SIGMA. Dry film thickness 60-80 microns.
This conservation is not suitable for outdoor storage for a long period of time.

The following accessories are to be seen as non-standard but can be supplied optionally:
